Dr. Lee holds a special place in her heart for the importance of family chiropractic care. She works with families, seniors, athletes and weekend warriors of all ages and believes that all individuals will have better health through regular chiropractic care. Dr. Lee offers a wide variety of adjusting techniques and personalized treatments based on each individual’s needs. The techniques she offers include: Diversified, Thompson drop, Flexion/Distraction, Cranial/Sacral, Webster, SOT, Upper Cervical Specific, Extremities, Muscle function testing and Activator methods. Dr. Lee is a certified Applied Kinesiologist and is currently working to earn her Diplomat in Pediatric and Prenatal Chiropractic. Dr. Lee is passionate about performing newborn checkups because the birth process is traumatic to the mother’s pelvis as well as the newborn’s neck and spine. Babies who were delivered via caesarean, vacuum, or forceps should especially be checked. She believes children need to have regular spinal check-ups to encourage overall health and wellness and prevent possible back conditions such as scoliosis, abnormal spinal curvatures or pain in the future. Letitia Smith, D.C.
Dr. Smith is very blessed to be able to serve the people of Okaloosa County by providing quality chiropractic care. Through chiropractic, she is excited to teach every patient what it means to be free of vertebral subluxation and restore the body to its natural state of optimal health.
Dr. Smith is originally from Newport News, Virginia. She graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelors of Science in Biological Sciences. During her time as a student she was introduced to chiropractic and sought care for herself in order to address the underlying cause of her low back pain. She found that being under chiropractic care had truly improved her overall quality of life. While learning the true meaning of chiropractic, she remembers being transformed and desired to be a part of a profession that is not only wellness based, but patient centered. From there, she enrolled at Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, SC, and earned her Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Dr. Smith had the privilege of completing her externship here at Bluewater Chiropractic Wellness Center under the direction of Dr. Lee and assistance of Dr. Denais. She is happy to have made her home here in the Okaloosa area after relocating with her husband, who serves in the United States Air force.
Dr. Smith offers a variety of adjusting techniques to help restore and maintain spinal health and function. This is important because every patient requires treatment tailored to their individual needs, goals, and physical conditions. Dr. Smith believes that her patients should want to play an active role in their health journey. By committing to a healthier life for yourself, you are able to encourage your loved ones to follow in the same path. Her goal is to promote a community of healthier families and to share the importance of chiropractic care for all ages. At this time, Dr. Smith is working to earn postgraduate certification by the Academy Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics, which focuses on the care of children and pregnant women.
The reality is that many complaints are smaller pieces of a bigger problem, and that problem is a decrease in body function due to disturbances to your nervous system. Dr. Smith hopes to communicate a message of overall wellness to every person that she encounters because with a nervous system free of interference, there is no limit!
Christina Schaefer IBCLC, RLC, CPD
I have worked in obstetrics for too many years to admit with fabulous women mentors. When I became pregnant with my first child, I was unaware of the struggles that I would face while adjusting to life as a new mother. As my family grew, so did anxiety and depression, and support became sparse. My personal experience during this difficult time fuels my passion for empowering mothers who may be experiencing similar struggles. Subsequently, I have been supporting women in the Panhandle since 2009 with a growing fire to bring education and awareness to the community. The Emerald Coast Alliance for Breastfeeding Support credited my service with the 2013 Frankie Mims Spirit of Service Award as a Certified Lactation Educator and Counselor. My credentials as an IBCLC, RLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, Registered Lactation Consultant) proudly followed in 2014. I have had the honor of attending many out of hospital births as a former Midwife Assistant and IBCLC for 5 years with various forms of consultations including hospital, office, group, and private in-home visits. My love of community service breathes on as an active member and Leader of La Leche League International. Additionally, I have attended training through CAPPA as a Labor Doula and continued certification as a Postpartum Doula supporting women as they transition into motherhood. But my greatest achievement still remains my two fabulously spunky children who continue to challenge everything I thought I once knew about life. I would not have it any other way.
